The thing I use as a frame work of the Ezekiel series is that I think they are formed as three parallel stories followed by a sequence of events.
The three parallel stories are three decscriptions of a sequence that is taking place right now, one of Israel's leaders, one of Gods stand towards Jordan (Edom), and one of Gods stand towards Israel.
That is Ezekiel 34, 35 and 36. (Do a Freeper search on title "Prophecy Today" to find a series of Articles I wrote on the subject.) These Prophecies play out the battle for the West Bank. Here is the kicker, I think Ezekiel 37, and then Ezekiel 38 are sequential events that follow the completion of the "West Bank" events.
In short, When the West Bank events are over, they trigger the "Great Return" of Ezekiel 37, and the Massive immigration and strengthing of Israel triggers the Attack by Russia and the Muslims from the North. k
So, in my understanding, Ezekiel 38 is soon to come, but other events that are spoken of in 35-36 and then 37 will come first.
As a side light, the Prophecies of the battle for Gaza are also playing out, but of course they are in the end phase of their event sequence. That is the Amos 1, Zephaniah 2 and Isaiah 14 stories.
Indeed it is exciting times for the world, when Prophetic clocks that have sat silent for 3000 years suddenly all start ticking at once.
The Isaiah 15-17 events seem to me to be nuclear also, dozens of cities destroyed in a single night, all in a ring around upper Israel.

Could be, although I am of the opinion the Great Return as you mention has already happened. All the scriptures mention gathering the Israelites from the nations. It seemed the catalyst was the holocaust of WWII and formation of the Jewish state in 1948. You may be right, I don't know. Either way, the world seems like a very strange, scaring yet exciting play doesn't it? I await the promise of a better world after the major correction or what some call the end times.
I think the best Gary for understanding Putin is a man by the name of Gary Kasparov. The same guy who has been trying to warn us about Edward Snowden being a tool to Putin, and the same person who brought and emphasized the death of Alexander Litvinenko and a number of other Russian journalist who wrote and protested Putin but ended up shot or stabbed to death in their own homes. If there’s one Gary who I would regard as a somewhat decent source of info on the state of Russia, it would be Kasparov. He also points out that yes, there are some problems with the U.S., but the fact that it doesn’t go around seeing tons of its own dissidents doing much more than rant on the street under police protection is a good thing, and to that I agree.
IMHO, there are and have been catalytic events bringing Jews to the Holy Land. The Ten Tribes are dead and scattered, but IMHO, there’s plenty of people on this planet who may be of descent from the Ten, but who don’t realize that that is their ancestry, at least not yet.
Regarding how God could accomplish it, I don’t know. But if Noah’s Ark is true, then God could do what so-called “wise” people would call impossible.
