No, Bush did. he is the President, he has the bully-pulpit.
Are you talking about BEFORE hurricane Katrina hit?
As much as I adore Ronald Reagan, he is in no way comparable to Jesus... gold standard or not...
Agreed.
The spending is going to fund the Senior Citizen Drug Prescription Plan and the No Child Left Behind program.
The truth of the matter is that Bush is spending money just like Democrats did - it's just that he is doing it a lot faster. If Bush had a (D) next to his name everyone here defending him would be up in arms wanting to impeach him.
Entitlements are up significantly under Bush than what they were under Clinton.
I have no beef with either the Senior Citizen Drug Prescription Plan or the No Child Left Behind programs. We're not talking about "a bridge to nowhere in Alaska".
We lucky few who voted for Peroutka have nothing to regret.
They get that Big Mac in the desret there the lawyers will be on the way to control the calories to be put on the menu! Sue, sue, sue!!!
By the way, what does RINO stand for or mean...got to ask, know it is what I most likely am against...someone please tll me...thanx
Republican In Name Only
I think we are saying the same thing but just in different ways. My contention is that Bush's public relations during and after the Katrina ordeal were very poor. He stayed on vacation and continuously thanked his people for doing a great job. None of these actually affected anyone's life but it was a public relations mistake.
The democrats took advantage of Bush's mis-steps and started blaming their mistakes on him and FEMA. This is where Bush really messed up. Rather than using his bully-pulpit as Reagan or Clinton would have done and explained what really happened to the American people and detailed the proper role of federal government, he de facto accepted blame with his speech.
While many here like to say that Bush connects with the American people, he really doesn't. In fact, he is pretty poor at it. It's just that Gore and Kerry were even worse. Even with such poor candidates, we were only a few thousand votes from President Gore and President Kerry.
Yes.
Plenty of those things have gotten through too. The prescription plan alone will assure that we will never run a surplus again. That means more and more borrowing - which is a de facto tax increase. The No Child Left Behind is the same story.
It's certainly affected your life. You've never had one positive thought about Bush, or thought to blame the local and state officials in Louisiana who were more responsible for what was going on in their own backyard.
It depends on how Roberts turns out. Republicans have appointed 7 out of the 9 justices currently on the court so it's not like they have a good track record.
What if Roberts is another Souter and we're stuck with him for 25 years? Sometimes it's better to go with the devil you know.
You believe there was a surplus? LOL! It's the Democrats who yell and squeal about "surpluses as far as the eye can see", when they talk about the Clinton years. LOL!
Greetings :)
You have nothing, period...lol. Not one seat at the table.
