Oh, boy. Well, we can expect plenty of dumb weight jokes and similar junk on these threads this week.

Bush needs to appoint Janice Rogers Brown. The democrats won't be able to hold back playing the race card. It will be a golden opporunity to get the focus off of W's problems and right back on the dems being a bunch of wackos.

Geez Ann...how do you really feel....
This wasn't as much as a slam to Roberts as a slam to Bush.....

Right on Anne. If Roberts turns out to be a Souter and W nominates another O'Connor, his legacy is mud. I pray he nominates a true consrvative, and we have a knock-down drag-out battle for him/her.

We can't have a too strong conservative presence on the SCOTUS. Lest the liberals poop in their diapers.

Apart from toppling the Soviet Empire, Scalia remains Reagan's greatest triumph. Too bad most of his best opinions are dissents. Scalia's been wasted, for the most part.

The highlights:
Incidentally, eight more Clarence Thomases is the only form of human cloning I would ever support.
He could even have done something totally nuts, like enforce the immigration laws.
Bush has a lot of faith in Roberts, though. The hearings did at least point out that the man has a sense of humor. Still, I liked the idea of Chief Justice Scalia, because he seems a terrible man to waste. Well, one vote is still one vote no matter what the robe.

Too bad the President didn't have the balls to deal with three hearings instead of two.

To tell the truth, I am really, really, getting tired of Ann Coulter trashing Pres Bush's selection of John Roberts, first as a SC Justice, and following up with more of the same when he chose Roberts to be Chief Justice. Get over it Ann. You nor anybody else knows how any person selected for a position will turn out. There are probabilities and possibilities. The probability of John Roberts being the best Chief Justice we have ever had is great. The possibility that he will not live up to the expectations of some people is also great. After listening to the protests against John Roberts by super dooper conservatives, I am willing to trust Pres Bush with making the best conservative choice.
