Edwards has a 30,000+ foot runway in a lake bed. That might help a lot. Prayers for all on board!
Only thing is the lakebed is a bit muddy from yesterday's rain.... I know, I work there... : (

Very bad situation if they can't get the gear up, with the wheels at a 90 degree angle, the whole fron assembly is going to shear off upon touch down. No telling what that big strut assy will due to the undercarriage, or rear wheel assy if it hits them.
