Nah, if memory serves ValueJet is Airtran now. I seem to recall that was one of those merge-to-buy-a-new-name kind of buyouts. JetBlue's a different animal.

No, Value jet became Airtran I believe. Jet Blue is a new airline that I read somewhere that Soros is a major backer. Nevertheless, prayers for all involved and for a safe landing.

ValuJet later bought out AirTran, and then took on that name. ValuJet did have some maintenance issues.
But the VALUJET FLIGHT 592 catastrophe was more a systemic failure & series of events wherein a container of live oxygen generator canister's got loaded into the forward cargo bay, and later ignited.
