I'd say the "soft" refers to the foam and not the landing. I am guessing the foam helps stop fire, but I have to believe it is not a cushion.

This has happened before the rear landing gear will be used and the nose will gradually balance out.

The likelyhood of success if extremely high for this to be non stop breaking news is over the top. I wouldn't want to be on the plane but it will land fine.
