They were probably working class Israeli IDF vets in their early 20's who have been living and fighting through an Intafada for the last 5+ years. They leave Israel and travel India because the shekel is such a weak currency, but still goes far in rural India. $22 is 2 days take-home minimum wage in Israel. That cost them at least 2 days travelling money.
But what a wedding story.
