Checking in from Katy. It's REALLY not looking good for Katy, so I'm heading out with the kids and the dog this afternoon. Husband is going to stay and finish preparations in the house and head out early in the morning. Does any have a suggestion as whether I should take the beltway to the north or the south. Thanks.

Why would you even consider taking the Beltway south? What's your final destination?
Get somewhere where you can go west. 290 will probably be congested, but I-45 and 59 are going to be parking lots.Get on Hwy. 6 before you get to Austin and head up to Waco.
