Howdy, Howlin!

We are in Tyler and in the line of fire.

I do need some coordination to keep my family posted if we lose power/phone.

We are going to try to keep the cellphones forwarded to home as long as there is power so we can shut down the cellphones, but if we lose phone/power we will use one and forward the other until we think the battery is about gone and then switch it the other way.

The amin things I am scared of is downed trees/power lines and maybe flood water in here.

I know you are in a safe place, but just be alert; it's the things that you don't expect that can shake you up.

Sounds like you're got a great plan though. I'd never have thought of that!

God speed to you and your family and friends.

We (my ex-husband and I)went through a few sissy hurricanes that fell apart in the mid'80s in NY so I have some clue as to what to do, but everyone here I know has never dealt with this and I have done the worrying for the masses.

Besides, I have a good grasp on weather and the likes and tend to understand it as far as diameter of the eye, jetstream (or lack in this case, which really screws things up), the right side doing the greater damage and the freakish calm as the eye passes over, yadda, yadda, yadda...

Looking at the radar pictures have just made me feel ill and it looks like there is another storm attempting to form further out in the Atlantic with another patch of clouds after that.

November 30th is a long way off this year and the sooner it is Christmas, the happier I will be.

We have plans to move me back to Phoenix and I will be praying that none of our vehicles get damaged in this skirmish with mother nature.

Here in Cypress and only light rain so far. Wind was gusty but probably not over 30 MPH.

I can't say Houston dodged a bullet - we just sat here.

The bullet dodged us!

I see nothing more than small tree debris everywhere in my immediate area.

There are 500,000+ without power in the Houston area.

Prayers out to those that caught the worst of this.

All's well this morning in the Woodlands. Might have a sever, yet thin, line of orange coming our way in an hour or so, but W. Montgomery Cty still has power and internet.
