Actually, I'm talking about the votes that matter. That is, the ones from the Senate Judiciary Committee. The 96 votes Scalia got were after the committee vote, and the reason they were so high is because the Senate unites to support the committee recomendation. Somewhat of a tradition.
That tradition has been thrown out the window by the RATS along with others such as decency, honor, love of country, truthfulness and common sense.
