Although documents were destroyed under Clinton's term, it is the Pentagon today that is forbidding Shaffer and the others from testifying. And not just testifying. But since last night, they have had a gag order issued on discussing this matter ANYWHERE!

Now, it's possible that Rumsfeld is out of the loop and some low level Clintonista is making the decisions, but Rumsfeld had better get out in front of this fast because the few newspaper articles I've seen in the last 1/2 hour make it sound like the Bush administration is trying to hide something.

And I don't believe for a second that this is rope a dope in order to let the press think the president is responsible only to turn around and point fingers at Clinton. The president has embraced Clinton, elevated his formerly lowly status and the president doesn't operate that way.

It's probably a sure bet if the msm gets hold of this no matter what the facts are they will spin it as Bush's fault. They do it with everything. But most of us here just want the truth. If Rummy is stalling or preventing info I would bet we are back to Hillary's FBI files again. I hate to get tin hat on you but that's just my gut guess.

By the way they can't cry Nat. secrets or any of that stuff because Able Danger "mined data only from public sources". We should be entitled, especially 3,000 dead later.

Did you catch Zaid saying that the civvie contractor James Smith had the research in the TRUNK OF HIS CAR...and when the gun-toting FeeBIes came to Orion and confiscated all the data and docs in 2000, he was on vacation and the stuff he had was NOT CLASSIFIED, so he never destaroyed it until 2004!

Seems to me that blows a HUGE hole in the DoD stonewall...

I think ravingnutter may be right, and that Clarke's fingerprints are all over this op, as well as Gorelick's crew in a clean-up mode! Note the destruction of data dates...they must have had polling data that said AlGore was not going to win, so they did a MAJOR CYA!
