PROVIDENCE -- Nearly a year after losing the presidency to George W. Bush, Senator John F. Kerry yesterday condemned the Bush administration in sweeping terms, blaming the president personally for the failure to prepare for the catastrophe in Louisiana, dismissing Bush's recovery plan as a ''right-wing ideological experiment," and calling for a strong new commitment to combat poverty around the country.

Time to crap or get off the pot, Senator Kerry

Beldar notes that it's getting very, very close to the deadline for John Kerry to file a libel lawsuit against the people behind the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth for their book, "Unfit To Serve." After all, since a lot of people attribute at least part of the blame for Kerry's loss on their efforts, and Kerry and others say that their charges are "false" and "disproven," wouldn't it behoove the Senator to get it on the record that they lied to him? Hell, he could even cite his loss to Bush under damages.

I have to disagree with Beldar, though, about saying that Kerry is just letting this slip by, hoping it quietly fades away. After, Kerry's home state of Massachusetts has a three-year statute of limitations, giving him until 2007 to file his lawsuit. And judging by his own ongoing reluctance to release his full military service records, despite repeated promises to do so (including one on the air to Tim Russert several months ago), I think it's safe to say that among all his other flaws, Kerry is a world-class procrastinator.

Pity, though. Kerry was at least good for entertainment. And it'd be a refreshing change to have him actually have to "put up or shut up," instead of simply repeating over and over that something was "false" without ever actually having to show otherwise.

He's rotten and I think Bush Sr, should just quit associating with him.

I could not figure out the "new best friends" thing, anyway. Why on earth would George H.W. want to pal around with the guy who beat him in '92 and whose veep so bitterly condemned his son in 2000?

Besides the fact, the BigCreep was impeached!!! He is not an honorable ex-President, he's a dishonorable former abuser of office. He doesn't belong in the company of the Bush family; he's way outclassed.

Again... Poppy, what were you thinking?!

Nothing ever changes.

I am starting to believe that the only reason American leftists might speak negatively about guys like Lenin or Stalin is that they think their plans weren't grand enough.

yep, only thing willie is know for is Monica and impeachment. He's a disgrace. Has no honor. Has no class and certainly does not deserve to be in the very home GWB grew up in. No, I don't know what pappy was thinking either but I wish he would stop and realize just what he is doing and how it looks. If it wwere my son as President and my husband was hanging out with people who hate my son...my husband would hear it. I imagine Barbara Bush has done that privately but...I wonder what is REALLY going on????

Thanks for the ping. This article, which I just entirely read, needs a BIG BARF ALERT.

In an interview, Kerry said his sadness over the devastation wrought by Katrina, and his frustration after a recent trip to Iraq, in which he traveled home on a plane with the coffin of an American soldier, persuaded him to get back in the arena.

Did this really happen or is it another lie, to dramatize his anti-Americanism. We know he and SINDY don't mind using the coffins of troops as their soapboxes....

Despicable.

One theory is that the Bushes were just trying to keep tabs on the Toon gang and/or a "holding your enemies closer" kind of thing. Remember?! Bar even said she felt like Barf-Alert Bill was one of her own sons!! Yuck!

This is so sad that this is the best that the Democrats can do. I want to cry for them, this is so pathetic. Does even one person on their side have any intellect, an ounce of modesty, or even some sense of decency? I would be willing to settle for just one of the above three!
