Folks, one can simply not wrap the Western Mind around the domestic life of Saudis. It is introspective, non-productive, aimless idiocy. Endless conversation. Endless wrangling over the Prophet's supposed words and the 1400 years of absolute mania that has gone into interpreting them, writing about them, reading the writing about them, re-writing the re-writing.

For a Saudi kid to learn anything useful, he has to be from the poorer classes and get into some sort of apprentice program, after which he'll do nothing. Or he has to be from the wealthier classes,(or smart) and get his head out of the country to Europe, America, India, even Pakistan! The great sin is when this kid comes back with a head full of useful stuff, there's nothing for them to do, much!

These kids just get picked up by crazy Muslim clerics (pardon redundancy) because there is simply not much else to do, except maybe drive around and gorge on fast food until you are a flatulent 300-pounder, with a hot new way to get your 72 virgins by offing westerners... and yourself.
