Where are you? We just talked to FIL; he's leaving in the morning to go to his "camp" up around Toledo Bend Lake. He's in Lake Charles. He's worried about the NE quadrant effect as well.
IF MONEY IS KEEPING YOU FROM LEAVING, EMAIL ME AND I WILL TRANSFER MONEY TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.
If you are in Galveston or anywhere nearby on the coast, get out now.
As an aside, if folks are heading to Dallas or Fort Worth, let us know where you're going to be. Maybe we can have a hurricane party!!!
I am east of Lake Charles. In Gonzales, which is about 55-60 miles west of New Orleans. I am not too concerned at the moment, but if it does move towards Lake Charles, I will bug out, because of the damage I have from Katrina. Two big oak trees (approx 100 feet high) are about 50 feet from the house, with the root balls lifted into the air from Katrina. I may just shelter at a local school. It really depends on the weather forecasts.
