Here are my responses:
why dont you go and serve if youre for the war
I would love to, but since I am a vet. of the first gulf war and I am too old to go, I'm not allowed. Since you are most likely pro-abortion why don't you go have one?
"do you have a family member over there?"
Yes, actually I do. He is currently flying there for the Army and I would love to be able to be there with him helping.
"what noble cause?"
Freeing the Iraqi people from a dictator who murdered & robbed them for 2 decades. Killing the terrorists who are bent on destroying our nation & our way of life. That would be the noble cause you scum sucking, bottom feeders.

Sisku Hanne did an awesome
SOLO FREEP of the Ditch Tour in PA.
She sent me the graphic for this sign which I love: IF YOU ARE FREE TO PROTEST, THANK A SOLDIER.
(The gentleman in the picture below is retired military and gave an impromptu and inspirational speech.)

I wonder if anybody got a picture of A., the student who brought us sodas and a Patriot CD not to mention some great conversation?
He was with us for the duration and I would love to post a picture of him.

I love your responses!
Thank you for your service to our country. Please convey my profound appreciation and gratitude to your wonderful son.
Will you be joining us in DC this week-end? We sure could use you!

Last photo in post #6 - second from the left. Andrew was his name, IIRC. Anyone??
He was with us for the duration and I would love to post a picture of him.
Yes. He did a great job discussing the issues with the two guys I mentioned earlier. He comes from a long line of Military personnel. His dad served during Desert Storm.

That's IT! The crowd from their protest
group?
THAT's their bus?
I'm laughing so hard I can barely hit
the right keys.

My response: I would love to go. But the military isn't taking mid-40's fat guys with bad knees.
Yea, I know.
I had my hopes up when DoD announced they were taking retirees back in then they qualified it by saying we would have to pass a physical and a PT test.
Back in Viet Nam we had a new crewman report aboard. He was over 50 y.o., needed a cane to walk, and had a medical profile not allowing him to be around loud noises or weapons (!). He was not allowed to set, stand or walk for prolonged periods. He had made the Normandy landing, was hit and medically retired.
He was recalled for Korea, made the Inchon landing, was hit and medically retired. He was called back for Viet Nam. On his first trip with us into Hue he was hit and again medically retired.
I figured if he could do so could I. Oh well

Justanobody -
I don;t have a son in Iraq. I have a cousin over there. I didn't mean to mislead anyone. Perhaps I should correct my post.
It was an honor to serve in the U.S. Army. I am humbled by the fact that I got to wear the uniform.
I am in Southern Illinois & I am afraid I can't make it to DC for the weekend. However, you have my prayers & support. I will also give you a warning - Cindy is past due for a meltdown. It is going to be ugly, so please be careful.

They're not taking any late 40 guys either...I offered to bring my own weapon (A/R15), provide my own ammo and buy my own uniform. Even wrote the President (probably put me on a 'nut list'). BTW, my knees are fine! ;)

If the President ever comes near your area, I expect your neighbors will be getting visits from those people with the dark glasses and hearing aids.

Last time the Prez was in Louisville, I did notice alot of black 'choppers' flying around my house! They did seem to take notice of the sand bags on my roof! hahahah
Seriously, I can still knock a squirrel out of a tree at 100 yards. Cripes, I can at least guard an airport or something. I've had plenty of management/leadership experience. Just no frickin' desk job! I want on the line!
To: Justanobody; Flora McDonald
When they ask
"why don't you go and serve if you're for the war?"I answer: "Huh? ...and leave you guys behind to run the country/ defend the homeland? You'd like that wouldn't you?"

I figured that at the very least I could step in at the Transportation School and let some able bodied soldier head over, but
