The solution to everything for American socialists is to raise taxes. Of course people like Clinton wont be hurt no matter how high taxes go. He has a rich wife and enough Yin to last several lifetimes.
The only real way to raise the money needed to rebuild the Golf Coast and New Orleans is to CUT taxes. History has taught us that more money flows into government coffers after a tax cut than could be realized by squeezing the taxpayer harder.
We are, after all, facing a comparatively minor cost if we look at history. Americans virtually paid for two world wars, rebuilt Europe twice and Japan once.
We recently gave Mexico $50 billion to bail them out of a peso crises and all we got in return was more illegal aliens and bilingual ballots.
We gave our deadliest enemy, Russia, much more than $50 billion and all we got in return was the Cold war, the Vietnam War, lousy vodka and Mikhail and Raisa Gorbachev.
We could rebuild the entire storm wrecked area several times over with the waste Washington spews out ever year.
Typically Clinton, his suggestion is the last thing we should do.

But also, with the price of gas now $3.39 my tax cuts have been negated. Then why raise taxes?

But also, with the price of gas now $3.39 my tax cuts have been negated.Well here again, the federal tax is based on dollars spent not gallons pumped, therefore is more money flowing into the federal coffers? I think so.
I know you are eager to pay higher taxes. I am not.

The libs have become so delusional that they actually think this is a winning issue.
However, with all the people looking for gummint handouts they might be right.

"I mean, sooner or later, just think what would happen if the Chinese -- we're pressing the Chinese now, a country not nearly as rich as America per capita, to keep loaning us money with low interest to cover my __________"
I think he meant to say "cover my campaign expenses". Klinton & Klinton are a national disgrace.

but about half of these tax cuts since 2001 have gone to people in my income group, the top 1 percent This is precious. This guy never EARNED a decent salary, even as Governor of Arkansas ... As a result of the ineptitude of Bush pere, he became president, and has parlayed that -- and his satyriasis -- into a book deal that has provided him his first decent payday ... and he has the GALL to put himself in the company of those of us who actually PRODUCE something out of nothing and make this country GO!

Yep, it was pretty terrible under Clinton. WTF was he thinking cutting government spending and reducing the deficit - that he was a real conservative?

I am so tired of this worthless POS shooting his mouth off. He loves the attention and the media loves him - just great. We'll have to hear these worthless comments for another 25 years or so.
Terrific.
I really wish W would say something - anything at this point -to counter Bubbas comments.

Clinton destroyed military budgets, he closed bases, and he raised taxes.
He did NOTHING for thee elderly as some would claim.
He SOLD military technology to China.
Need I go on?

Any lender country would throw it's own economy into an uncontrolable tailspin if it ever flooded it's own market with the US dollar, still the pricipal currency of international trade and primary reserve currency of most lender nations.
Lender nations themselves can not afford to self inflict a depression or inflation on the rest of the world by flooding the market with a devalued dollar.
