You didn't hurt my feelings...someone like you doesn't count at all in my book. Traitorous comments about the Brit troops and all that. Just another DemoRAT-lite speaking up is all.

Tensions in Basra had risen on Sunday when British forces arrested two leading members of Sadr's Mehdi army militia.

Sadr, who has led two uprisings against U.S. troops over the past two years, has a following in Basra, Iraq's second biggest city, where Shi'ite factions are competing for power.

Sadr again...no surprise

They were SAS read this news link. Good for the Brits. We wouldnt let our Navy SEALS,Delta or any other special force unit be captured either if we could liberate them.

Somehow, I believe, Iran is involved in this.

Understatement of the year.

You're not doing any favours revealing the identities of the SAS troops. I know they are shown on sites such as yahoo search but everywhere else the face is blurred. Don't spread the identities of OUR heroes.
I have the utmost respect for the British troops and the SAS.
A British soldier is Britain's hero dead OR alive. Whether a soldier had been tortured or not he's still OUR hero.
Retired or not, still a hero.
It was not a major mess whatsover. This was a heroicly successful mission. Our troops should be proud of themselves, they are true heros. Those 2 SAS heroes were handed over to blood-thirsty Mehdi Army insurgents loyal to rebel Shiite cleric Moqtada al Sadr, the type of people that like to behead westerners. These 2 men have wives, children, mothers and fathers back home and if we hadn't have used force we would have lost OUR heroes. Under the law those 2 soldiers should have been handed back immediately but were instead handed over to insurgents. They wore Arab clothing because thats what normal Arabs wear. They mixed in with the environment as they are expected to. Do you not know that they do this ALL the time? They did this in the past gulf wars and they are doing it now. Hello? This is what war is all about. Those SAS soldiers were keeping an eye on the Iraqi police as they allegedly received intelligence that insurgents were among the Iraqi police force. It appears to be true.
They were arrested and then negotiations were held for their release but there was no hope of them being handed back. It's the law, even Iraqi law, that they are to hand coalition troops back but they refused to. Instead, they handed them over to Mehdi Army insurgents loyal to rebel Shiite cleric Moqtada al Sadr.
In response our troops correctly used force to take back their own men. It was the correct thing to do. God Bless the British troops. We are proud of you. The majority of the nation is proud of you.
