I think that's where the division occurred - see, ours continues with "unless they say something bad about your mama, or kick your dog."
Actually, this point came up in our local discussions. We felt that since we are the arbiters of what constitutes "harm" then we're covered.
"Listen, bub! You've got about four seconds to rephrase that remark. Ah cain't count very high!" -- You see, we have the enlightened perspective that allowing such churlish behavior to go unchallenged would be inherently harmful to the churl, and that it is incumbent on us to educate him in that regard, for his own safety.
