She was stupid. Perhaps he stupidity of youth, but stupid. What parent would ever let their child go on such a venture?

This is the Gen X permissive society come home to roost.

And my question stands -- why does it matter that much this one sad story? Why are we wasting bandwidth? I can in 10 seconds find a hundred cases as bad or worse.

It is embarrassing that the "hot white chick leads" mentality is so pervasive here.

There is nothing special about this case. Just another ding-dong who put herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Why does this rate more attention than some missing (presumed dead) girl in Philly or Oakland or Denver or Muncie?

News media deemed her case newsworthy and her mother and family managed to keep the case in the forefront. BRAVO to them. I wish them God speed and hope that the case is eventually solved, and sooner rather than later.
