We have a lot of Iraq war Vets who have been permanently disfigured and who are much more deserving of help. I can't pity this woman too much just because she thinks bigger boobs are going to change her life for the better.
When I saw the headline, I thought this was another Cindy Sheehan story.
If they (ABC) compensate her for her time, that is the end of their obligation. It's not as if they started the surgery & dropped her.
Unless a person has a serious deformity, I don't know how they think becoming what they aren't will make them a better person. You just have to have it inside, and ifyou don't, you could look like brad pitt and you are still ugly.
The people who put on these shows don't ever get a dime from me. They're hopeless degenerates, not worth the recognition of any right-minded person.
With all this PC bull***t and the liberal judges and courts in California, you never know what this woman might get.
OMG that is horrible. I don't think I'd be able to watch the show anymore knowing how cold hearted they are. They make themselves out to be a God send to these people and yet to coldly turn away one you've promised a new life to is unforgivable.
Her sister tho should have had more fortitude with babies to raise. Nothing tops raising your children.
Reality TV - now there's an oxymoron for you.
What a sad story. Maybe she can end up owning ABC and doing an extreme makeover on it.
What a horrible family. This poor woman probably wanted the surgeries so "they" would stop berrating her. The suicidal sister had to be loopey to begin with, the mother in law just seems nasty.
I for one am glad that attractive people are not the only ones that can be married. I would be a single woman then.
And this is what "reality" shows are: gladiator fights, so much adored by the public. The analogy is valid because it is one form of pain or another is sold as "reality." True reality includes a miraculous liver transplant performed as we speak at the University of Pittsburgh, a communication with a satellite a gazillion miles away, heroism of our soldiers and good deeds performed by them in Iraq and New Orleans, and much, much more that makes this great country great. This is not in any way "reality" so much desired by the public: it wants pain and suffering.
At the bottom of it, all those that watch that "reality" garbage are the culprits, and not just ABC.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Egads, I hope there are no FOX executives on this board.
I'm willing to bet she signed away any legal rights to sure ABC. She is going to the press to generate sympathy, perhaps justly so.
I don't feel any sympathy for the sister who killed herself after she was so willing to trash her sister on national television.
Nice family.
Huh??? This suit is absurd. How many other people has ABC dropped from consideration? I would bet she was not the only one. If this "ugly" woman's life was "destroyed" from not getting the plastic surgery she dreamed of, then the entire culture of looks-worship is to blame, not just ABC. "How can I go back as ugly as I left? I was supposed to come home pretty." Is this what America has come down to? Is our spiritual life so devoid that this is all we value? What about people who are disfigured from fires or chemicals, mutilated soldiers? There are millions of Americans worse off than this woman is.
Yikes! I would hate to have a legal document stating that!
