I am a closet Duran Duran fan. Never would admit it in real life being a 20 year old male and all. I only wished I grew up in the 80s and could have expiernced the golden years of MTV and the video music era.

Our cable system was one of the first to get MTV back in early 82. Five VJ's and not enough videos that they had to have filler instrumental music. The USA network had a competing video show on Friday nights.

ASIA, Duran Duran, the band that did "I think I'm turning Japanese" etc.etc. Mostly all British tech punk bands.

The 80's were a special era, with the Rise of Ronaldus Maximus, the explosion of the economy (giving early rise to the 90's dot.com era), the end of stagflation, the crummy fashions, when MTV showed music videos, good and bad movies, and the sunset of quality television.

I admit: I am a member of Generation Reagan, and proud of it. (It's not an age, it's a state of mind.)
