Baltimore is a majority black town and our [white] mayor started his term in office by having a campaign called BELIEVE. Huge black banners with BELIEVE in white lettering hang on public buildings all over the city. I have no idea what it is that people are supposed to believe in. That someone else is going to pick up their trash? Fix the sagging roof on their home? Get them through school without studying? It is totally ridiculous! If we ever had a disaster that forced large numbers of people into an arena somewhere, I suspect we would see a lot of the same antisocial behavior. Baltimore's and its surrounding counties stats really mirror those of New Orleans.

A very good point. To a "Liberal" caring about something IS "doing" something. Sort of like the Hard Right Buchannites who think whining about something is "doing something". Difference is the Hard Right is on the fringe of the Republican party while the "Liberals" totally control the Democrats.
