Some of you Freeper men really confuse the hell out of me. First women are blood suckers and should be forced to sign a prenup if the man is wealthy. Then women are bitches if they dare to educate themselves, move up the corporate ladder but have a difficult time finding a male companion.

Brilliant. There is a lot of hatred toward women on this site. From time to time I've tried to gently tell men that not all women are monsters, and we conservative women do love them. But there are some Freeper men who are so consumed with hatred that they won't even entertain the possibility that women can be good. It's like talking to Muslims who believe women are the root of all evil.

There have been threads on here before about how all women who get good jobs and become successful are bitches. But if we don't get jobs, if we are homemakers for twenty years and then can't support ourselves and our kids after Mr. Wonderful runs off with the young hottie, any demand for alimony and child support also makes us bitches. Can't win.

Excellent post!

You can't win for losing around here. It goes beyond a double standard to something almost primal...this "I gotta have ya but I hate ya because I gotta have ya because YOU MAKE me feel this way!" Talk about abdicating personal responsibility on it's most basic level.

But I will say this, it's a learning experience. And I can see how certain things in other cultures came into being when the hatred got to be law or even religion. Scary, but again, I just eat popcorn and watch.

There isn't that much hatred for women on this site, though there clearly is some, and it is vocal from time to time.

A lot of men have a poverty mentality when it comes to money. They have an irrational fear that a woman might cuckold them and take 1/2 their money.

I have consistently felt that if the price of getting rid of a bad woman is 1/2 of everything I had, that's probably a pretty good deal.

The thing that a lot of folks forget is that the property becomes marital property when the parties become married. Both men and women here (and lots of places) think that the property belongs to the couple in good times, and then if one party engages in misconduct, all of it somehow reverts back to the harmed spouse. That's just silly.

The rules dividing property protect both husband and wife, and adds a certain predictability to the financial situation should they go their separate ways. The cheater and the loyal spouse are treated the same. That's fair, if unpalatable.

In regards to women who work for successful careers, I don't think many men on FR think they are automatically bitches. I think many men find them not to their taste, though. I'm one of them and have good reasons, mostly because successful career women tend to be older (side-effect of investing in career as opposed to home life), have difficult and unreliable schedules, and are not as interested in forsaking their investment to raise children.

I don't think they are bitches for that. I am uninterested in them as a romantic companion, though. It's perfectly fair: they get the career they wanted, and it's incumbent on them to find a compatible mate. I get to reject those women (and many would reject me, to be fair), in favor of a more compatible mate. It's unreasonable for me to expect a career woman to forsake her investment in favor of my wishes; conversely, it's unfair for those women to expect me to forsake my taste in a romantic companion in favor of their wishes.

Everybody gets what they want, and what they deserve. The thing is, women have more flexibility and freedom with career and family life than ever before. That's a good thing, though some men may not like that. The other side of the coin is that, naturally, men have more flexibility and freedom when it comes to finding a compatible mate. That's a good thing, though some women may not like that.

Fair is fair, after all.
