I thought the Berger fiasco was settled many months ago, with him getting a meager $10,000 fine. It was the Bush administration (John Ashcroft, at the time) whom I believe under-prosecuted this crime, and we were all outraged back then.

This play was often performed by the master of diversion, clintoon, when another of his sexual adultery would hit the front page. Ole clintoon would just order bombing of another country. Explains why clintoon ordered bombing of 6 countries in 8 years (the two he missed were election years). Berger was clintoon's NSA man.

I think that was what they asked for in the original plea bargain. I guess the Judge upped the fine.

Thanks for the ping,Mia T !

The Berger--Able Danger/Atta--9/11 Commission whitewash-- is a story with many chapters.

The MSM at best will show us the book jacket.

I'm glad you're around to work on the table of contents and pertinent footnotes!

As always,FRegards... :o)

The double standard in the MSM and the death of true investigative reporting continues to wreak havoc upon this nation. Thanks for your part in exposing the truth, Mia T.

I don't think Katrina had anything to do with the lack of media coverage of the Berger fiasco. It would have been buried in any event. And, had Berger been a Republican Office Holder, the coverage would have burned right thru Katrina.

With all due respect, the media DID NOT DECIDE TO LET BERGER off. It was and is Bush's administration. All the media coverage in the world would not have changed what Bush's Justice department decided to do. It pains me to say this... Bush does not seem to be interested in punishing any former Klintoista. I wish I could explain the reasons, but for whatever reason, it has a bad smell around it and makes me mad as hell.

I would have had Berger shot at dawn after the one hour in court.

He got away with it because the Bush "Justice" Dept. made it possible for him to do so. Everything swept under the rug - status quo.

And Bush Sr. is now Sh$%head Clinton's best buddy. I'm shocked.

Well, when's the last time you saw a high-level professional politician hold another one to account?

It's not all that hard to figure out.

I agree. I will be commenting on this (somewhat obliquely) in the next post.

Maybe you meant to reply to the original poster instead of to me (please see my comments in post #2). I don't believe the media had or should have any roll in prosecuting Berger or anyone; that's what the Justice Dept. is for. But in this case, the Bush administration let him skate.

As Bill O'Reilly often states, the powerful protect each other. It's unforgivable here, however, because Berger's acts dealt with our national security. I would have thought several years in prison would be appropriate.

You are right. I see no difference in the pre-Katrina coverage of Berger.
