I love a Mayor with common sense. The fiasco in New Orleans demonstrated that you can't always count on the police to be there for you.
A Montgomery resident Friday fired several shots at a man who shot him twice during an attempted robbery.
Kurtis Watts, 46, of 7048 Old Selma Road was at the car wash at United Food & Fuel at the corner of South Court Street and Fleming Road when he was approached by a man dressed in black.
"A man who appeared to be 18 or 19 years old produced a handgun and told Watts to 'give it up,'" said Lt. Huey Thornton, a police spokesman. "The man then shot Watts twice, once in the upper shoulder and once down near the hip."
Watts apparently had a gun in his waistband and fired five to six shots at his attacker. It is not known if the attacker was struck, Thornton said.
Watts was taken to Baptist Medical Center South with serious injuries.

Especially the Mayor who NOLA, who put his family first on a private jet out of harms way.
Ragin-Nagin could have prevented the flooding with he money set aside(federal) to upgrade the levees, dams and waterpumps to sustain Cat-5 hurricanes&surges. He was too, busy fronting and not looking out for the welfare/safety of his constituients.
You can put an idiotic, incompetent, fool, liberal in office as a NOLA mayor, but those undesiralble qualities will never change.
Confucis say NOLA citizens live in rice bowl surrounded by water with mayor puncturing the bottom of rice bowl with his office golden letter opener.
I am glad we have a great governor in Alabama , who thinks on his feet. Unlike La, with Blanco(BLANKO) sitting on her fat, dumb, liberal, and lazy incompetent hysterical ass.
