What do you think the Gretna people drove the three buses on?..... They took them [6000] to the evacuation center on I-10 West of the Superdome at Causeway Blvd.
That is what I meant by walking west to that point. They were bascially as close to that point as they were to Gretna. They sure weren't going to get help in the small towns like Gretna which had already evacuated. Mayor Nagin told them to walk. That takes the problem off his hands don'tcha see.
