''Take a look at America now. The rich are certainly richer, but the economy is in the tank, a healthy surplus has been converted into a massive deficit, and the U.S. is a place that cannot even afford the basics. Like maintaining levees in low-lying Louisiana. Might I suggest that tax cuts led indirectly to the flooding of New Orleans?'' You can suggest it but you are a total ass for trying to make the comparison.

Might I suggest that tax cuts led indirectly to the flooding of New Orleans?'' No. But you might suggest that pandering to environmentalists and corrupt local government led directly to the flooding of New Orleans.

Might I suggest to the liberal socialist that even "poor people" such as myself, understand simple numerical percentages.
And having clawed my way from the bottom rung of the income ladder towards higher financial success, I have personally experienced the shocking point when a slight hourly income raise actually meant a drop in take home pay, due to entering a higher income tax bracket.
I have other life priorities, and quite frankly am not willing to take on the considerable risks, long hours, and hard work that are generally required of the people who can afford to hire me as an employee.
What kind of idiot thinks I want my employer to pay a higher percentage in taxes than I am forced to pay?
I guess it's the same kind of idiot who thinks I should be jealous of, and covet those things that others have, and that I do not.
NEWSFLASH:I do not hate my employer, and I do not want him taxed at a higher rate than myself.
