With the exception of one week after 9/11, has support for Congress ever been high?

Without Terry Mcauliff who knows?--the Democrats may actually hire a competent national leader.

Yeah right. This proves that liberals are indeed crack heads. I predict that the GOP will pick up three to five seats in the House, and two to four in the Senate. Perhaps more in the House if the LA public takes out their frustration at their local and state elected officials out on them at the polls next November. The democrats simply haven't done anything to deserve winning seats. And the conservative majority has stuck to its guns, hasn't had any scandals, and has stayed true to themselves and had a minimum if infighting, while the democrats keep on feeding on each other.

No. And the Democrats are whistling in the dark because they have no positive message. They may be able to gin up an anti-Bush vote but they can't inspire any one to vote for them. That's their problem and if the MSM wants to help them maintain their delusion - then they shouldn't be surprised by very different election results next year.

I would presume a "Democtratic Strategist" is paid a consulting fee. How smart would the Democratic Strategist be if he called them a bunch of losers, got fired and missed out another 14 months of consutling fees?

Hey, give this guy a break. He has to justify his salary somehow.

This is somewhat akin to asking a football coach what kind of season he's going to have. The coach will NEVER say his team is going to get stomped. Instead he'll brag about the progress the team has made, that he has high hopes for the coming season, etc. It's the same with this clown. You don't really expect him to tell the truth, that his party is so out of touch with mainstream America that it resembles a blinfolded man trying to hit a pinata ten feet off the ground with an eight foot pole...

Well, you know, the Dems had that great close loss in Ohio....surely that translates into actual wins in 2006! /sarcasm off

Not only are they going to lose seats in the House, they are going to lose a Senate seat in Florida and a Governorship in Virginia.

For House, Democrats Need Discontent

< Snip >

"A year ago, I could say the Democrats were close enough to 218 so they could cherry-pick seats to get them to the majority," said Stuart Rothenberg, who edits the Rothenberg Political Report. "I can't make the case now. Basically, they need voters to make a decision to change party control of the House."

The Democrats probably will pick up seats. The Democrats would've gained seats in 2004 had it not been for Tom Delay's gerrymandering. I doubt Pelosi will be Speaker anytime soon, but the six year itch is coming.

I'll be surprised if they hold the 11. The dims have no sense at all as to how poorly there behavior plays with the average voter and turns them off. They play to a shrinking base and turnoff more and more of the rest of the voters with the same results. They lose more seats.

You know I listened to the hearings for Chief Justice there was a common theme going on with Biden, Kennedy, Layhey (whatever his name is) the one Cheney did the f word too.
Anyways they seemed proud they have been in washington for 20,25, and one even 30
SO MY QUESTION IS TO THE DEMS WHO THINK WORKING IN THE SENATE AND HOUSE IS A LIFE LONG JOB WHAT THE H*LL HAVE YOU BEEN DOING FOR 30 YEARS WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH THE RACIAL ISSUE, POVERTY, ETC. ETC. AND YOU SAY YOUR FOR THE LITTLE PEOPLE YEH RIGHT. YOU WANT THE LITTLE PEOPLE MR KENNEDY TO STAY LITTLE SO THEY DONT FEND FOR THEMSELVES. G.W.BUSH HAS DONE MORE GOOD IN 6 YEARS THAT THE 50 PLUS THE 3 DEMS HAVE DONE.
