"In retrospect, she regrets offending people she respects, she said, and she has apologized to some of them."

Stop, stop, stop this nonsense!

If you are going to write something, then STAND BY IT!

Otherwise DON'T WRITE IT!

Well! There's conservative life alive and well in the twenty-something crowd. Encouraging!

Aw, schucks. Seems like it would liven up the wait, in my humble opinion. Besides, do they wear underwear?? Just asking...

strip-searching anyone who refuses to...eat a ham sandwich makes a lot of sense. I agree except for the last part. Half my family - my husband's side - is Jewish as well as a potential sonin-law, and they might have some objections to the ham sandwich. Me, I'm good to go.

Dear Uzma and Bushra - You weren't listening, were you?

Not IN the airport, 100 yards outside of it. Preferably in a large tent, to protect the eyes of the airline passengers who may be hurrying by.

Is there an email address where we can send thanks and encouragement for this young lady having the courage to be a voice of reason in an environment where sanity is disdained?

I suppose you could write a letter to the editor of the paper she worked at...

She wrote something stupid and her employer didn't like it. Them's the breaks.

As for her idea, Islam isn't tied to ethnicity or skin color and terrorists may not be the standard Arabic stereotype; John Walker Lindh, John Mohammad, Jose Padilla, etc.

Too bad we can't come up with an Islam detector...

"I think her comments were disgusting and immature, quite to be expected of a 20-year-old with pretensions to "journalism." Give it a pass because you don't expect anything better of students ... but making her a heroine because she's into exposing other people to humiliation is just silly, imo."

That's certainly one valid way of looking at it.

While I support your view in practice, as an expression of frustration in making such a proposal is every bit as valid in the arena of ideas as many of the outlandish, hateful and even threatening columns being written against the President and accepted as "freedom of speech".

the fact that censorship of views not acceptable to the left are indicative of the stilted state of the First Ammendment in this nation.

Heh. My wife probably wouldn't either, she's not a fan of the pig. I wonder if it would be okay if I ate for both of us.

I've got one...and it seems to work quite well. It involves a Q'uran, a toilet, and an observer watching the suspect's face.

100% reliable so far.
