Then he tells them that essentially they are condemned because being a good person is not only not enough, it is not possible...and you think they were rude?
Its not enough just to be good. The bible says "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It also says, "There is none rightous no not one." The bible doesn't say just be good and you will get to heaven.

Does God punish good people for the actions of bad people?
Sometimes, yes.

And here in Texas they are trying to recruit additional help to serve food to the evacuees. What I want to know is why can't they get off their rears and help serve themselves. In addition, they quit giving out the $2000 cards because they were going outside the Astrodome and spending it on the boom boxes and drugs from the pushers waiting there for them.

"I tried to engage Bennett in a discussion of his shoddy theological reasoning (and general insensitivity), but he couldn't see what I was saying, either. " There he was, trying to preach the message of salvation, which he believes happens by grace alone and not by anything we can do ourselves," I think it would be far more appropriate for this "Religion Writer" to simply report on what the Pastor had to say as to why he posted the sign, rather that criticize his beliefs as "shoddy", by comparing her own shoddier (unbiblical) beliefs as superior to his.
If this writer was available in my paper I wouldn't be bother reading her, unless I wanted to hear how liberalism is diluting Christianity in the U.S.

"God is a God of love and grace. But he is also a jealous God. And doesn't want any one to worship false Gods. And NO has a lot of false Gods being worshiped."He is a patient God and gives us free will to thumb our noses at him.
But he also has warned us that He will not be mocked. He reserves the authority to allow us to me reminded of that through the calamities of living in a fallen world.

Robbins described New Orleans as "the depository of America's soul." Now it will also become the depository of America's taxpayer dollars, as Congress robs what's left of the treasury so that no one will call them racists.

Is this an action of a Just God?

"Isn't it possible that a person can look at two statements from two different people, judge one statement as correct, and one as incorrect, without their being evidence of bias? If you criticized Louis Farakkhan would I have to think that you were biased against him or simply expressing an intelligent opinion? " Put perfume on a pig and it still stinks.
The author clearly shows her bias. Just because you think it sounds fine to you doesn't change that fact.

You know, I reread Matthew the other day. And, nowhere in it did I read "When I was hungry (as long as I got up and served myself) you gave me to eat."
Is your charity contingent on whether the receiver of that charity lives up to your standards?

And they will call them racists anyway.

It all works out for the best in the end. Who are we to question God?

The bible also says He who does not work shall not eat.

Why is FR so unwelcoming of new people? And if you don't agree with what they say, the answer is ban them. That is what DU does.

You're asking the wrong person. Let's ask the right person.
Mr./Mrs./Ms. Admin Moderator, why is FR so unwelcoming to previously banned retreads like Goofystacey? Becky really wants to know.
thanks,
G-R

It all works out for the best in the end. Who are we to question God? I prefer to think that God allows natural disasters which affect both good people and bad people. He does not use them to punish anybody, and He especially doesn't use them to destroy one group of people for the sin's of others.

The bible also says He who does not work shall not eat. The reason that these evacuees are likely served, rather than allowing them to serve themselves, is that there is not an infinite amount of food when serving a large number of people.
You guys are mean as hell, for professing Christians.
