"In the name of Iraqi people, I say to you, Mr President, and to the glorious American people, thank you, thank you. Thank you, because you liberated us from the worst kind of dictatorship. Our people suffered too much . . .

"Thank you, and thanks to the United States, there are now 50 million Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq liberated by your courageous leadership and decision to liberate us, Mr President.

"We agree with Mr President Bush that democracy is the solution to the problems of the Middle East. Mr President, you are a visionary, great statesman. We salute you."

The truth is out there!

In spite of the fact that we at FR and other internet/political junkies know where we can find the truth, I think we also are affected by the Old Media.

Last night on the President's speech thread there was a lot of negativity, and that is what the Old Media is all about. Negativity is a creeping disease, and it seeps into our attitudes when we are not even aware of it.

These words by the Iraqi president should warm our hearts. This is how our forefathers probably felt away from the religious tyranny and class oppression. They faced huge problems, but I think they faced it with optimism and hope.

We are a spoiled nation. We may disagree with the President, that is our right. But President Bush is a man with a heart and a vision surrounded by a positive spirit. We should give him credit for that more often.
