If you're arguing with me, you're advocating the $200 billion rebuilding of NO, because I've done nothing on this thread except state that it's immoral and unconstitutional to do so. Specifically, when I said,
Why the hell are we paying $200 billion to rebuild a tourist trap...
You replied, enraged, telling me finally to STFU. Apparently you believe that the fine cuisine there does justify the $200 bil, is the only thing I can make of your rather vehement reply.
Well, noob, I am glad that you have your finger firmly on the pulse of Free Republic.
Meaning, that I've gone out on a limb and suggested that it's full of people who are both religious and, ahem, the opposite of socialist? Yeah, that really takes an amazing kreskin to figure out. People come here all the time expecting good old-fashioned Marxist revival meetings, and they're SO surprised when they don't find them...
You said: "The only good thing in NO was jazz."
Which anyone who has been to New Orleans and bothered to step out of the hotel or off of Bourbon Street can tell you is patently false and shortsighted.
I then illustrated said shortsighted falsehood by continuing your sentence with:"...and the food, and the museums, and the history, and the architecture, and the industry.
...and then, yes, I asked you to shut up. I was hoping to spare you the continued embarrasment of speaking from outside of your knowledge.
At no point did I mention that I thought your magical 200 billion dollar figure SHOULD be spent on New Orleans. At no point did you bother ask me if I believed that it should be spent on New Orleans before attacking me FOR BELIEVEING that it should.
Then again, why would you ask anyone anything... it's obvious that you are just here to hear yourself talk.
