Is it usual to strike against companies which are in bankruptcy court, as Northwest Airlines currently is?
He watched three or four egregious mistakes like using the wrong fluids in CLEARLY marked situations and on situation where a bolt was left over and the plane was released to service. He walked afterward. They took his ID, escorted him out under guard, and he will get to go back and get his tools when they get around to it.
He is a moral upstanding man.
"He walked out after he saw the scabs at work. NWA is not safe to fly."
If you know something important, you better notify the FAA, and IMMEDIATELY.
So now that you have posted this statement, and something bad does happen to a NWA plane, you are going to be getting a lot of unwelcomed visitors.
I am second hand in my knowledge but the FAA is aware of the landing gear failures, lost engines etc. There are articles on some of them. When you lose your front gear it makes the paper. The situation has been reported and is not being properly addressed. One is going to have to come down before they are taken seriously.
Folks one of the places you don't skimp on is A&P maintenance. I can fly a dirty plane - no problem. When they lose engines I get a little upset.
This situation is caused by the union lumping all maintenance people together (cleaning and mechanics) and extremely unsavory practices by NWA. NWA deserves whatever it gets.
Don't think NWA is spotless here. (Though I know it is the general concensus here that no corporation can do wrong!)
I was a scab a few years ago when the grocery workers were on strike. Ten bucks an hour to sort stuff on a shelf! I had a great time! Many of the union people came back to work before the strike was over and they were excellent people. They just wanted to work, do their job, raise their families.
Not like these thugs. If that were my house I might start practice with my bb gun/scope. DOn't bother calling the cops because they are union too.
God bless the little cheap digital camera! Cheap pix of evidence lest anything happen. DVD's to send to ALL the appropo powers that be! Quickie little videos to witness up close action.
If you want on or off my aerospace ping list, please contact me by Freep mail.
Why the hell aren't RICO laws being used to prosecute this crap right now?
They better watch out. It would be a violation of the automatic stay in bankruptcy for them to use violence.
The labor laws specifically exempt labor unions from the antitrust laws.
NWA has employed old pals of mine to provide security in a discrete manner. If it comes to it, the union goons will be toast crumbs, trust me. Lots of talk, but they will not dare to get violent around the runways or counters. Sneaking up on folks at their home maybe, in goon fashion, yes, but that's it.
In the union town I grew up in the cops were organized by the Teamsters! In every incidence they were always busy on the other side of town.
Eventually a "scab" is going to lose it and introduce these folks to an islamofacist style bomb vest at a large union gathering.

I hope all these union jack*sses wind up on the midnight shift scrubbing toilets in gas stations. It's more than they deserve.

You mean like Eastern union members?
Workers, union or not, sometimes forget that there is always someone out there willing to take their job. And, union workers need to remember that the unions's first priority is the union as an organization. The worker is only the financial donor. Whether its John Doe or Jane Moe cranking a wrench doesn't matter, either one pays union dues.
From the sounds of The President's speech tonight, most, if not all the displaced citizens of the Gulf Coast Region will end up with real jobs as opposed to filing single file carrying silly signs.
Exactly!
Don't fly NWA - the mechanics working on the planes now have little or no real experience. They have had several failures lately and a real disaster is not unlikely given the people now maintaining the planes. Let someone else get killed.
Let me guess, Nov3... you belong to a union.
Vote for Pedro.
