i've given, and given, and given. i'm sure i sound heartless and greedy, which i'm really not. i just don't necessarily trust the government to spend my money wisely. particularly the louisiana government. sorry if that sounds crass.

No, it doesn't sound crass... it sounds terribly simple minded. Congratulations on giving. Don't sprain yourself patting yourself on the back. But unless you've given enough to rebuild the area, then the money will have to come from another source.
