Here in Iowa and the rest of the cornbelt, NO is the primary port for moving their crop to the rest of the world. As long as the NO area is down, agriculture is threatened.

In addition, over one-quarter of the oil brought into this country comes through NOLA. That doesn't even include the oil production and refining capacity in the region.

BTW, we cannot entrust this effort to the corrupt leadership of NO and LA.

Exactly!!!

People that are bitching about this DON'T realize how vital New Orleans is to the economy of this country, both nationally and internationally.

If they don't like it that we are in an international economy, they need to wake up. With same day Business flights from Europe and overnight flights from Japan, its asinine to think that business cannot be conducted that way.
