WASHINGTON -- A Pentagon employee was ordered to destroy documents that identified Mohamed Atta as a terrorist two years before the 2001 attacks, a congressman said Thursday.
The employee is prepared to testify next week before the Senate Judiciary Committee and was expected to name the person who ordered him to destroy the large volume of documents, said Rep. Curt Weldon, R-Pa.

I hope this person has "protection."
Please, God, let it be Sandy Berger......
Could it be....Sandy Burglar?
The Republicans are using partisan politics and diverting attention from the real tragedy of Katrina! How dare they!
(Sandy did it)
9/11 commissioners running for cover.
Does anyone know when the documents were destroyed?
There had been talk that the person who gave the order is now part of Bush's administration.
I hope not.
Slade Gorton is finding the biggest rock he can hide under!
arkancide alert...
This may turn out to be less costly and more revealing than the 9/11 Circus before it is all over.
On C-Span, Weldon gave a press conference around 4:45 or 5:00 today. Coverage of his comments were interrupted whenever the House returned to vote.
But he said that an Able Danger will testify under oath that he was ordered to destroy 2 terabites of material. The Library of Congress has informed Weldon that 2 terabites of material equals approximately 1/4 of all the material in the Library of Congress.
Weldon also said that the Joint Chief of Staffs under Clinton was briefed by AD folks for 3 hours and nothing happened.
He also said that in the first quarter of '01, an aide to Rumsfeld was briefed. I think the person's name is Steve Carbone.
Weldon also said that Commission member Romer told Weldon the picture couldn't have been of Atta because Atta wasn't in the country legally at that time. Weldon says the picture of Atta wasn't a driver's license or visa picture. It was a picture of Atta, purchased by a woman who was investigated what was going on in a mosque.
Weldon says he tried for days to get Tom Kean on the phone and when he finally got him, Kean only gave him five minutes and said he's follow-up, which he never did.
Weldon, Shaffer and someone else briefed the 9/11 Commission and the Commission said the information was historically insignificant. I don't know when the briefing occurred.
Weldon said that he used to support the Commission and toured the country supporting their recommendations, but they have now lost his confidence.
Talk. Where?
They also preferred Kerry- so the description means little.

Burglur? Someone at the direction of Gorelicker? A previously unknown Justice Dept. lesbian? An effeminate male State Dept order taker? A Klintoon agent? This could get good...
We all must wonder why the Republican representatives were from liberal states and the Democratic representatives were hard, hard core people. Did The Republicans goof or was it fixed from the beginning?
