No. Kids need to learn to interact with the opposite sex.

Excellent. Should have hjappened a long time ago.
In the 80's I had a friend who went to an all-girls' Catholic school and she said it was the best time of her life. Empowering.

Are separate classrooms the best way to teach kids?Sometimes. Depends on the children, the teachers, and the curriculum.

Tinfoil mode - By separating by sex, the homo-pedophiles will have easier access to sexualizing, brainwashing, and abusing the children.

Depends on age and maturity, and that changes over time: young ones (< ~10) is OK, puberty age, separate is better for some kids, young adult, separate maybe for certain fields (military for instance, Marines have the right approach - separate in basic, then together for specialization).

My daughter, an honor student, finally got what I'd been telling her for years - get into honors classes, get into honors classes. She came in Monday complaining her only class that isn't honors (there is no honors science offered) is full of idiots, slackers, and trouble makers. They interrupt class and are distractions to those who want to learn. I say if there's any division of groups, start with the kids who want an education from those who want to cause problems.

What I find encouraging is that some (but still not enough)leaders in our education system are accepting there are biological differences in boys and girls. No, they're not the same sex.

Pragmatically this has been shown to be true, and it hasn't anything to do with
brains.
Denial is a wonderful thing. There is plenty of time to learn to interact with the opposite sex after age 12.
It's not rocket science.

Separate clubs work better; for the dumber kids you'll have to drive spikes through the clubs.

Yes..kids do not need to learn how to interact with the
opposite sex at a young age..
More appropriate well supervised forms of interaction
as they mature is a much more sensible approach as it is
painfully obvious the present approach in public education
is a miserable failure..
imo

The point in the article about frequent breaks is interesting.
When my kids were in school over the past 14 years, they had only one recess in the morning, and a twenty minute recess after (an early) lunch.
When I was in elementary school in the 1950's (when schools were more oriented to boys, I think by default) we had ten minute recesses every hour and a 45 minute recess after lunch. Our school day was an hour longer (8-3 where my kids were 9-3) but we always got out and ran around. Even if it were raining, we had breezeways in which we could play most of our playground games. I distinctly remember often being fidgety by the end of an hour, and very glad for the break. Came back ready to go to work. (if disappointed our games of 4-square, tetherball, tag, kickball or basketball were so short).

RADICAL IDEA----BOYS AND GIRLS ARE DIFFERENT
The Lefties in our school systems want SO MUCH to believe we are all one sex.

Ack! Gender is a grammatical term. He divided the class by sex. I know some people think I am being silly by complaining about this, but it is a pet peeve of mine.

Absolutely!
In this age of digital cameras on your 10 year old sons cell-phone, all he's gonna want to do is take pictures up the skirt of the girl at the desk behind him!
How's he going to learn in that environment??

When I was in 8th grade back in 68, I went to a public school where the classes were co-ed, but the lunchroom, the school yard, and all other hang out places were sex-segregated...I think the principle would have sex-segregated the classrooms if she could have gotten away with it.
Other schools in the greater NO area were sex-segregated for years.
