Is this the last scheduled day of senatorial gasbagging? Orrin Hatch was scheduled to give back some of his time to speed things along...
"Is this the last scheduled day of senatorial gasbagging?"
I think the questioning is supposed to finish this morning, with statements from other folk this afternoon.
I wouldn't be surprised, by the way, if the RATS capitulated and voted for Roberts. It must be obvious even to their pinched, hate-filled brains that the guy's going to win, so it would be to their benefit to vote for him, so that they would be able to stand up and crow: "We're fair, SEE?! We're fair. We voted for Roberts..." next time around, when they try to give the next nominee a group colonoscopy.
Roberts says most people are't aware of this Court. Congress apparently set it up that way. Given the very unusual nature of the Court, those appointed must be outstanding jurists to sit on it, dedicated to civil liberties. Roberts says he cannot forcast what he will do, as he is not totally familiar with the Court at this time but will do the right thing.
Leahy quits.
