I don't know, Pat. These people got off their duffs well enough to walk all the way to the evacuation points, so laziness doesn't explain everything. I still think we are missing part of the picture of what happened at the Superdome and Convention Center. I saw on Hannity (during the days after the hurricane) that people tried to walk out and were stopped by law enforcement and sent back. There is more to this story, that's all I'm saying, I'm not pointing fingers.

Food and water are a great motivator. Even the laziest welfare bum will get motivated when they are hungry and thirsty. I've been without water for a couple days in the heat; the thirst becomes all consuming. Maybe welfare explains why they don't have a car and credit card to evacuate to Memphis BEFORE the storm. But not why they stayed for 4 days at the dome.

It's understandable the old people in the nursing homes and hospitals drown or succumbed to the elements. They weren't going to be walking out without help. They waited around for nothing I'm afraid.

The other weird thing is why help didn't get to Mississippi for days, either. Something went wrong in the overall plan, we just don't know what it is yet.

I agree. IMO Pat, with his usual flair does go a little overboard knocking the MSM victims. Plenty of blame to go around and most of it belongs on a capo style local administration.

Of course, the MSM, as usual went berserk and latched onto it, and cloned it as another Burkett and Sheehan. Their account of the tragedy was 75% fabrication.
