This story is written as though the whole
L'Affaire Katrina is merely another Republican-Democrat, "He said-She said" tempest in a teapot. In fact, this dynamic is driven almost entirely by the
media, who started the whining, pumped up the volume almost immediately after the winds stopped blowing, and then poured gasoline on the flames by running back and forth to the politicos, asking them, "Senator Landrieu claims you screwed this up. How do you respond?"
A partisan media whipped up this story into shrieking hysteria from the beginning. They are not without sin here. Yet I don't see them mentioned in this story. I wonder why.

It still puts all the blame squarely on the feds. It is more covert in doing it and the article never really mentions all the state and federal failures. The article also never mentions any personal responsibility for those who refused to leave the city. This article was as biased as any I have seen, it just phrased everything without all the previous bombast.

Truth has long been a causalty of the Chronicle. At least they didn't completely destroy it as they usually do, only wounded it slightly.
