Hunter was only 42 when he died from a cerebral hemmorrhage, the result of a fall from an explosion while he was filming one of his movies. A sad end for a truly talented actor who had a remarkable career and a great future ahead of him. BTW, I think Jack Lord (Hawaii Five-O) was also one of those who tried out for the part of Captain Kirk).
