"I don't know of any wars between Rabbinical and Karaite Jews"
Lol.. well, not yet any way. If there was, it would be between the Secularists and the Haredi. Definitely was between the Northern Kingdom and the Southern Kingdom, since we are dipping in to history.
"I think that all Christians follow some sort of replacement theology, though not all to it's logical extreme, agreed."
Well, there are actually some who believe the Jews are parallel in God's plan of redemption.. that God is dealing with both independently. Not mainstream in any sense, as far as Xtianity goes, but it's there.
"Christians universally believe that the promised Mosiach has already arrived"
Point given.
"They celebrate the Sabbath on Sunday. They don't follow the dietary laws"
Seventh-Day Adventists.. and lots of Jews do not keep Kashrut.
As for the rest.. yes, Xtianity supposes superceding covenents. But it is not necessarily an adversarial doctrinal promotion any more than that of Abraham's to Moses'.
Concerning OT vs NT.. it should be noted that the writers of the NT never referred to the Torah as "OT". They uniformly call it the "Scriptures".
When talking of Xtianity being divided between Protestant and Catholic. I submit their difference is insignificant. In fact, Protestant's are Catholics who are "protesting" Rome's authority. Since Protestants hold to the Catholic doctrine of the Trinity, they are what they believe.
Their are many sects of Xtianity that do not subscribe to the Trinity doctrine. Certainly, Xtianity of the first two centuries did not, and the Trinitarian doctrine of 3rd century Xtians would not be recognizable to those today.
