"I have eaten at Seafood restaurants in St. Augustine but have never explored the old town. Was always drawn to the fort with other family members since it was the place that my mother's parents met in the early 1900's at a dance or musical event (not sure what event it was)."

The Old City is phenomenal, Aqua!
(can you get a friend of M to dogsit?!)

You'll need more than one day there, preferably in October or early November when it's cool and not as crowded.

Daiser Dog suffers from an acute fear of being abandoned (again) every time we even think about going somewhere. If we leave her in a kennel it's hard to enjoy ourselves knowing that she's on another one of her hunger strikes and shaking in a corner. She is the most sensitive animal I've ever seen.
