Ah -- to see both Charleston AND St. Augustine would be so wonderful!
Just don't try to do either in one day; do dress casually and comfortably and be prepared to hoof it, in addition to carriage rides...

lol no not even a possibility to see both in one day. On one trip to Clemson, we did spend a day and a night in Charleston, and I fell in love with what I saw.

My son has since been encouraging me to move to Charleston, mainly so he would have a place to go and visit the city.
We toured the grounds of the Citadel and my daughter was impressed with the numbers of dashing young men, while the rest of us checked out the history.
