Fess up. How did you get a link to the Onion or Scrappleface to look like a real news story from the Washington Times?

Just used Advanced Sneaky HTML. Piece 'o Cake.
Oh, I also used the fact that Congress is just a big clown-car, unloading on all of us daily.
(and I just love all the FReepers trying to spin this by saying DeLay, who voted for all the pork, is just being ironic.)

Count me as one who thinks this is a wry way of challenging Congress to act. Just because you vote for a bill (before Katrina) doesn't mean that you shouldn't revisit the matter. I will, however, be looking for Delay to "offer" the first piece of pork. Time will tell.

Rush has his head up the elephant's hide quarter if he really claims DeLay is just 'laying a trap' or being 'sarcastic'. That's just ridiculous! Delay votes for vats of lard with the rest in Congress. This is not sarcasm. He is a food and he should be recalled to Texas and given a stern 'talking to' behind a woodshed.
There is NO fiscal conservatism in politics. The GOP are liars. It's all a tug-of-war between corporate lapdogs and the socialists to see who can funnel more tax dollars to their pet special interests. Just look at the highway bill for one recent, undeniable, example.

Does the Republican party now view federal spending as a tool to be used to shore up the economy? I can't find that anywhere in the party platform. Sounds like it, doesn't it. Truly, this has been their plan since a major portion of the moneymen in GOP politics and benefit from these pork projects while they and the politicians worship at the altar of subsidized business and public works. Fiscal restraint is dead. They only talk the talk because they know they need to votes of the grass roots 'true believers' to get reelected and then spend like drunken sailors. A GOP vote means slowing the Dem's progress. And no better than that.

DeLay is losing his bearings. He needs to figure out who he wants to please.
