Thanks so much to everyone at the freep Friday evening. It was my first but will not be my last!! I've been lurking for so long it was fun to finally put a face with the names I've been seeing on FR over the years. I plan to come again in October and bring friends!! Thanks Coop for showing me the freepin ropes...did the banjo player ever play your request...hammer and a sickle? LOL!

My favorite part of the evening was meeting the soldiers that stopped by to thank us for coming. One of the soldiers was from a small town in Texas about 30 miles from me. My home boy!! It was an honor to be able to thank them in person. You guys are doing something special there and I appreciate your commitment and tenacity! Thanks for the opportunity to participate. You are all true Patriots!! It was the best 3 hours I've spent all year! I'll be back!

Did the journalist that attended write about the freep?

Thank you again Dr. Raoul for getting me back to the hotel safely.

And thank you Redbob and Agreatper for the nice compiments!

:-) That was Buford's request. Nice meeting you April. And you've started a trend, with Bob coming in from Michigan. Then next week JimRob is coming in from CA!

We look forward to seeing you again sometime. Perhaps next time you can bring along some of your new groupies. ;-)

No story from the journalist yet. Maybe, the story will run only after he comes back?

The sacrifices Doctor Raoul makes for FR. :)

OK, you've gotten quite a few complements on the thread.

And you've announced that you're coming back and bringing friends. Please tell me that your friends are former Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, you know the ones who quit when they thought the uniform redesign was too old- fashioned? Maybe that would be enough to pry some of the FReepers away from their keyboards?

The reason I mention the cheerleaders is that it might be along the lines of Coop's great marketing ploy to get people to look at this thread, albeit with a misleading title:
