Woman gets pregnant after 'acrobatic joyride'
From: From correspondents in Hassloch, Germany September 12, 2005
FERTILITY scientists will be pricking up their ears at the news that a woman who had been barren for several years has conceived thanks to a ride on a particularly fierce rollercoaster.
Nayade Elbing, 28, and her husband Arnold had been trying to have children for several years and had consulted doctors in the hope of scientific help in their quest. But according to their doctor, Thomas Gent, it was G-force, rather than hitting the G-spot, that made the difference.
After making love at home, Elbing and her husband visited their local entertainment park in Hassloch, Germany, which boasts one of the world's fastest and most acrobatic rollercoasters, dubbed Expedition GeForce.
A week later, tests showed Elbing was pregnant.
"We believe that she conceived due to the G-force of the rollercoaster ride," Dr Gent said.
Cuban-born Elbing has since given birth to Leandro Elias - who has been given a lifetime pass for free rollercoaster rides.
Yes, the coaster was kinda odd.
Twin roller coaster, but they travel in opposite directions.
that sounds like fun! I love roller coasters...
I liekd the Viper at Six Flags when it was merly an experimental coaster.
I haven't been there in awhile, so I don't know if they have it still.
But it was a simple proof of concpet test coaster.
I'm trying to remember if that's what I rode at Darien Lakes in June....
Viper had a 360 'heartline' spin, meaning the coaster spun with the center of rotation being around where your chest is.
The first coaster to do that.
I didn't know that, darks....I just checked the Darien Lakes...they do have that ride...I think I was on that in June.
Coolbeans.
It was a neat ride.
I remember riding it not too long after it premiered.
(1995..)
Made the mistake of riding on "Freefall" between two women.
They grabbed the nearest object while screaming, which happened to be me.
So I had a big pinch bruise on my ribs on one side, and a huge charley horse on my left leg.
Wouldn't you love to see Jamie and Adam try to set that up!
Nam Vet
LOL! I was on the construction staff for the brewery and the park in Williamsburg when Alpengeist was built back in the mid 90's. We all had to ride it before they would open it to the public (Anheuser-Busch corporate policy). They didn't have all the "bugs" worked out of it when I rode. I think you may be right.
this is wierd, as well as amusing.
:O)
I didn't scream until I started feeling pain.
THEN there were a trio of voices all the way down.
you were not a wraith at the time, then, I take it!! : )
Nope.
And I regretted it..
;-)
Poor darks! : )
"I think I've been going to the wrong "amusement" parks! ;-)"
LOL now THAT's the best line of the day
It hurt!
But at least they were cute.
I have no doubt they were darks....probably even VERY! : )
so...did you lure them or, of course, they probably lured you!! : )
