The red crescent is oriented towards Mecca. With a 1 in 360 chance of that happening, this is looking very suspicious.
I don't mind the cresent idea if it is properly executed.
For example, let's designate a doggie walking area, plant one bush for each hijacker, trim them into cresents, and let nature take its course.
