Slapping head... I get it now too.
But, he sure went round the mulberry bush.
BRILLANT!!!!
In the abstract, politics should be kept out. Sadly, the dems don't do this though, so they deserve what they get.
ok...ok...ok...I'm way too slow today. Outwitted by LG!
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Of course he's mocking the Dems, but that doesn't exclude grandstanding from the process.
As I stated, he's trying to be returned to the good graces of his constituents.
He's also pointing out the change in standards for confirmation since the Reagan and Clinton administrations. Scalia and Ginsburg were judged on their skills as lawyers, not on their political affiliations and were both approved by 95+ Senators.
LG is showing that deference needs to be given to the President and his choices for judges. Just showing that a man like Scalia would have a damn hard time getting confirmed today. Requiring a political test for a non-political position damages the courts.
Good call. Wish I'd thought of it!
Now I get it also. We had to just listen carefully first.
LG just asked a great question about threats to rule of law.
Good stuff.
Yup... I think this is interesting...
He flew under the radar until ge smacked the libs for double standards with Roberts vs Ginzburg...
Ouch...
Intent? Grandstanding facing a tough primary? Maybe... But the effect was a smack on the Demz...
Quite clever, but Lindsay should have remembered he is playing to us too.... emotional dimwits like me...lol.
He has cut the legs of the democrats. Dared them to vote nay.
Nope; this was his "part" of the GOP responses.
Bingo he just told the audience what he was getting at. During Ginsberg's nomination, all GOP Senators put politics aside, and voted for a Clinton nominee because of her brilliant mind and no other reason. He's suggesting they do the same with this nominee.
Absolutely.
Now, are you ready to keep the STFU count?
LMAO! "He was confirmed."
Graham is a smart guy too.
Don't let the drawl fool you.
He's a sharp lawyer. This was a ploy.
He mocked the dems and proved a couple of points on the entire confirmation process.
CHUCKIE!!!!
Precisely. He is double daring Schumer/Kennedy, et al from applying a litmus test.
Oh boy, here comes Chuckie, can hardly wait. PUKE!
Oh a "softball" PUTZ!
3 I's so far.
