The article may or may not be an accurate description, however, in NO this industry is thriving and apparently untouched.

That problem lies strictly with the inept local government, which are violating the second amendment by disarming individuals. The gated communities are to be commended for having the sense to protect their inhabitants and their property when the locals couldn't or wouldn't do so.

You would prefer it if EVERYONES property was looted, not just those outside of gated communities? Just like a communist to drag everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

People inside gated communities pay extra for protection from looters. To deny them the protection they have paid for is like denying insurance coverage to people who have paid for it simply because some other people have neglected to provide insurance coverage for themselves. Why would making everyone equally miserable make you happy if you are not a communist?
